    Who Benefits from permanent makeup?

    Q. How is it done?

    A. Permanent makeup/cosmetics is the introduction of hypoallergenic pigments
    infused into the dermis or deeper layer of the skin by means of one or
    more needles.

    Q. Is the procedure a form of tattooing?

    A. Permanent cosmetics, also known as semi-permanent make-up,
    micro-pigmentation is a form of advanced tattooing. The pigment is not
    infused as deeply into the skin as tattooing, therefore, the enhancement
    does not have the permanency of a conventional tattoo.

    Q. Will it hurt?

    A. Effective topical numbing agents are used to minimise any discomfort.
    In theory the procedure is no more painful than having your eyebrows
    tweezed. These are used throughout the procedure.

    Q. Who decides on colour and shape?

    A. During the consultation the client’s natural colourings (hair and skin) will be
    assessed along with their face shape. It is imperative that the correct colours,
    shapes and styles are chosen and are suitable for the individual.

    Q. What happens before the procedure?

    A. Before the procedure can commence a consultation is essential. The client will
    be required to complete all the necessary forms, which need to be read and
    understood by the client and signed authorising commencement of the procedure.
    If authorisation from your G.P. is required before your permanent cosmetic
    procedure, a letter will be sent to your G.P. and the procedure will only take
    place once authorisation is received. A sensitivity/allergy test will also be
    performed. A very small amount of pigment is placed behind the client’s ear
    and the topical anaesthetic on the other ear. If after three days there is no sign
    of an allergic reaction to either tests, the procedure can commence. The client
    will have information regarding the procedures to take with them before the initial
    procedure.

    Q. What happens during the procedure?

    A. The pigment infusion process takes approximately 1 hour using the cosmedic © device
    and pigments that, not only meet, but exceed all British and European
    Health and Safety requirements.

    Q. What will I look like immediately after permanent makeup?

    A. Immediately after the procedure the area will be slightly reddened and swollen. The
    eyelids will be slightly puffy and can remain puffy for up to 48 hours. Lips can look
    swollen. The effect is similar to how you would look if you had been crying. The colour
    will appear a darker shade than the desired result for up to 1 week after the procedure .
    After the procedure a healing balm will be applied to the area.

    Q. What do I do after?

    A. Immediately after you will be given a healing balm to take home and apply to the area
    during the healing period. After care instructions will be explained and copies taken
    away with the client for reference.

    Q. How long will It last?

    A. How long iit lasts will vary enormously on a variety of factors. The colour selected.
    Each permanent cosmetic procedure will need to have a colour boost every 12-14 months
    to refresh the enhancement. It can last for years but will fade in time, especially when
    exposed to sunlight and U.V. light.
